We are so excited to share this news with you! Many, many people in the Rivertowns have been advocating for safety upgrades to Route 9. There have been meetings to gather public input about ways to improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers along Route 9 (Broadway). The latest upgrade involves a pedestrian activated crosswalk at Route 9 and Clinton Ave. in Dobbs Ferry. We've partnered with Maggie Segrich, owner of Alice and Chains Jewelry & the creator of The Jogging Jeweler to create this video about the new crosswalk device and how to safely use it. We encourage everyone
to "Stop, Look and Wave" when approaching any crosswalk. Many thanks to everyone involved in making the crosswalk a reality: advocates for the crosswalk, including everyday citizens; the Village of Dobbs Ferry; the Dobbs Ferry Police Department; the New York State Department of Transportation; and especially the pedestrians, including children from our local elementary school (and my house!) who agreed to appear in the video. Stay safe out there!
